Jojoba
Native Americans have used jojoba for hundreds of years. Jojoba is not an
oil, but a liquid wax; excellent choice for many aromatherapy uses. Most
often used as the carrier oil of choice to use with essential oils. A must in
all your natural skin care cream and lotion recipes. It is very stable,
having extremely good keeping qualities. Useful oil in cases of acne.
Jojoba, Golden Organic choose this Jojoba for heavier creams, soap making and
when you want extra moisturizing. Less refined, it retains more vitamins and
minerals than the refined. Not quite as stable. Jojoba contains myristic
acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties.

Skin Cream
2 1/2 ounces (weight) beeswax
>4 ounces (weight) lanolin
2/3 cup baby or mineral oil
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon borax (sodium borate, CP)
Fragrant oil (optional)
Melt the oil, lanolin and beeswax to 160 degrees F. Heat the borax and water
in a separate container to 160 degrees F. Be sure the beeswax is melted and
the borax is dissolved. Add the water mixture to the oil mixture while
stirring. When a white cream forms, stir slowly until the mixture cools to
100 degrees F. Pour the cream into small, wide-mouth jars.

How To Make An Herbal Lotion
Crush 1 oz. leaves from the herb or herbs that you picked, or bruise 1 oz.
flowers. Add 1 cup of water and mix.
Pour the mixture into a ceramic pot.
Add an additional cup of water and cover.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 3
minutes. Remove and let it cool.
Now you have to strain the flowers and the leaves.
Store the herb water in the refigerator for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, melt 1 oz. cocoa butter in a double boiler and slowly add 3
oz. fruit oil or vegetable oil and combine thoroughly. Remove from heat and
whisk in 2 oz. of the prepared herb water.

Beeswax and Calendula Salve
Beeswax, the substance from which honeycombs are built, restores and locks in
moisture. This salve comforts dry, brittle skin on your hands. Kept in a
dark, sterilized container, it will keep indefinitely. Makes 6 ounces.
1 tablespoon dried calendula petals
1/4 cup almond or coconut oil
1 ounce beeswax, unmelted
In a coffee grinder or using a mortar or pestle, grind together the
calendula blossoms with the oil and stir in the beeswax. Massage a
dime-sized drop into hands and cuticles. Store in an airtight container.

Honey Cream
Directions:
Mix 3 tablespoons lanolin, 1/2 tablespoon honey and 1 teaspoon lecithin in a
bowl and melt over a water bath. Slowly add 4 tablespoons warm water to it,
beating continuously until it cools.

Papaya
Papain is also popular (in countries where it grows) as a topical application
in the treatment of cuts, rashes, stings and burns. Papain ointment is
commonly made from fermented papaya flesh, and is applied as a gel-like
paste.

Misc Home remedies
Ingredients: aloe(The green spikey plant)
Instructions: Cut the aloe and then cut it in half to the goo. And then just
simply rub it onto the cut or burn.
Ingredients: Mustard ++++
Instructions: It that simple apply mustard to a burn or burn blister and poof
redness and blister are gone. Don't know why it works it just does and with
no stinging. BUT if your burn is severe get medical attention ASAP.
Ingredients: Honey
Instructions: I saw in an article a couple of years back how a burn hospital
was testing honey in place of potato slices for their burn patients. Well,
two days after that, I accidentally grabbed a the handle of a hot pan that
had just come out of the oven. I new immedatly this burn was going to be very
bad. I decided to put honey on it,and then I wrapped it in a gauze bandage. I
replaced the bandage the next day and after day three, there was no swelling,
or blisters and even better, there was no scarring. I have tried this remedy
for everything from hot oil slpashes to sunburns and I swear that honey works
miracles.

High Protein, High Calorie diet rich in vitamins and minerals is useful for recovery
Diet plays a very important role in the healing process. To speed up the recovery, burns patients must consume a high protein and calorie diet. Skin burn causes a loss of substantial percentage of micronutrients, such as copper, selenium, and zinc. This slows the healing process and also increases the risk of infection.
Some of the vitamins important for the recovery are Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, Glutamine, Arginine, copper, zinc, Selenium etc.

Reduce the temperature of the burnt area
After a burn, the very first thing that you should do is to reduce the temperature of the burnt area. Put lots of chilled water or dip that body part into chilled water for 15 to 30 minutes.
Apply honey to the wound once you have washed the wound properly. It will prevent infection and will heal the wound.
Papaya contains enzymes that help to remove dead cells from the wound.
Aloe Vera is good for treating burns. Cut some fresh aloe Vera leaves and put it on the burnt area.Once the wound starts healing, break a capsule of vitamin E and pour the liquid on it. This will prevent scarring.
Applying lavender oil is also found to be effective for burns.
